Dear church,
We are nearing the end of our Lenten journey this year. We took on as a community a theme that can be challenging and uncomfortable – mortality – and we wrestled together with the paradoxical truth that the more honest we are about being mortal, the more alive we can be in our living. I believe we learned together that being mortal is not just about acknowledging that we will one day die, it’s also about accepting limits, releasing control, being present, and choosing what matters. That all sounds simple, but it’s hard, daily work.

And, as we turn toward Holy Week, we begin with Palm Sunday. Just a couple things I want to share with you ahead of time:
•    We’re beginning Palm Sunday worship with a procession from the narthex into the sanctuary. We’d love many of you to participate, and it’s also entirely fine if you’d prefer to start worship in the sanctuary and either join the procession later or remain in your seats.
•    Pastor Reed and I are leading the forum on Sunday and it will be an Interactive Walk through Holy Week. This forum is meant for all ages. This forum is a creative and accessible way to journey through the days of Holy Week. Easter is so much more powerful when we remember the pain, injustice, and fear that preceded it. Hope you can join us!
•    It’s the last day to grab an Alle**** coloring sheet – these need to be turned in by Wednesday, April 16!

In Christ,
Pastor Sarah

Every Friday, we send an email to the congregation and any others who would like to learn more about the Grace community. The last four Friday emails are posted below.
