Dear church,
It’s a very exciting week around Grace this week! You can just feel it when you walk in the doors – it feels like something special is about to happen, and it is! This weekend Grace is turning 60 years old and we are going to celebrate in all the ways we know how.
As we prepare for the weekend, there are a few things I’m excited to share with you:
First, last weekend I shared with you that a few couples had come together to create a $6,000 matching gift challenge in honor of our 60th anniversary. Since then, a few others have come forward and offered to match $6,000 more, so now we have in front of us a matching gift challenge of $12,000! Talk about joyful generosity!
If you’d like to join in on the generosity, here’s how:
• We will have a special offering during worship on Sunday – you may bring a cash/check gift with you and place it in the offering basket during the service.
• Use the QR code in worship on Sunday to give a gift electronically
• Give a gift online before or after Sunday – be sure to select “60th Anniversary gift” in the drop-down menu: https://graceofav.breezechms.com/give/online
Our goal is to match the $12,000 by the end of October. By coming together and giving what we can, we will be able to do this, church!
Second, the 60th anniversary planning team has put together a lovely, meaningful book that captures the history of Grace, the memories of our charter members, and the reflections of many of our current members. You can pre-order in person on Sunday or order yours today. Please note: this weekend is the last weekend to put your order in!
Third, and most importantly, I really hope you’ll come to Grace this weekend! No matter what your connection is to Grace, you are part of the story of this community of faith. Please join us for worship at 9:30a and brunch immediately afterwards.
