Dear church,
As we receive commitments this Sunday and as we go into a holiday that, at its best, is about living gratefully, my note to you today is simply a note of thanks. I am so grateful to be one of your pastors, and I’m so grateful for the church and the mission we are cultivating together. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for opening your hearts. Thank you for being Christ’s hands and feet in the world. Thank you for sustaining a spirit of hope through very difficult times. Thank you for caring for one another. Thank you for being generous. Thank you for receiving new ideas. Thank you for extending a warm and sincere welcome to those who are new to our community. Thank you for extending grace when mistakes happen or things don’t turn out as we’d hoped. Thank you for being the spirited, imperfect, and compassionate community that you are.
