Dear Church,
This Sunday is Kickoff Sunday! Everyone is invited to join us after worship in the west parking lot (by the playground). We’ve designed this event to be accessible for the whole congregation, and we’d love to see you there. Whether you’re two or ninety-two, you are welcome and invited!
There won’t be coffee and cookies served inside, or any sign-ups in the Narthex – everything has been moved outside. There are tents and tables so that you can sit in the shade, socialize, and enjoy a brat grilled by our Property Team. There’s a bounce house, a science show, and lawn games for our young ones (and all who are young at heart!)
Part of our focus this fall is strengthening community connections, and Kickoff Sunday is a great day to participate in that – both by stopping by after worship and being in community, but also by completing a Grace Community Passport.
These passports can guide you through Kickoff Sunday and will help set us up for a great program year. Our adults are invited to:
• Get your picture taken for Breeze by one of our fabulous high school volunteers – it’s so helpful in connecting names and faces!
• Introduce yourself to someone you don’t know yet – either during table conversation, while standing in line for food, or playing a yard game.
• Fill out our new We Create Church Together form – this form will help us get to know you a little better, and invite you to participate in events that align with your interests and passions.
• Complete the bonus task of signing up for an October small group or for the All-Congregation retreat!
And we have a special passport for our kids and youth, inviting them to:
• Jump in the bounce house
• Say hi to someone new
• Attend the science show (11:15a)
• And fill out the Kids We Create Church Together form (parents, they might ask for your help!)
Everyone can turn in your completed passports at the Central Station for a prize. And if you have any questions at Kickoff, the Central Station is the hub for that as well!
We hope to see you on Sunday – it looks like it’ll be a beautiful day out!
In Christ,
Pastor Reed
Every Friday, we send an email to the congregation and any others who would like to learn more about the Grace community. The last four Friday emails are posted below.
