Hopefully many of you have received a copy of The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer and are planning to read along with us during the month of November. The books are available at no charge (one per family) and can be picked up at church through Nov. 1st. The Serviceberry is also available in electronic form from the Dakota County Library.
The book focuses on the concept of a giving economy, one where we freely share our abundance with others and create a sense of belonging and community. Grace will be exploring this further during the month of November.
The Stewardship team has developed a reading guide that breaks the book into 3 sections with questions to reflect on. The guide can also be found here. The first 3 Mondays in November, we’ll be sending an email with a reminder of the pages to read for the week and some questions to ponder.
And then we hope you will join us on Sunday, November 22, 10:45a – Noon in Friendship Hall to discuss your take-aways from the book and brainstorm about how the concepts in the book can be applied at Grace. We already have some examples of a giving economy here at Grace, but is there more we can do? Come share your thoughts and ideas at the forum!
