In December of 2025, we launched a Community Resource Shelf at Grace. This is a resource for the Grace community and our neighbors to use as needed for a stopgap, or to supplement other Dakota County and nonprofit resources. It also has information and tools to help keep ourselves and our neighbors safer amid authoritarianism.
This shelf is stocked with basic hygiene supplies, nonperishable food bags, COVID tests, whistles, and more. It is for our whole community, and is a way to directly support each other and our neighbors who stop by looking for support and care.
If you or a neighbor needs food, bring them a bag! If you’re concerned about the increase in ICE presence in our state, grab a whistle and informational zine! One of the ways dominant culture distorts community is through the lie of rugged individualism and shame for needing support. But God created us for community – to share food, to share resources, to pray for one another, and to support each other so that all can thrive. This Community Resource Shelf is one way we are living out those covenants of community.

If you’d like to give monetarily, follow the link below, and use the drop-down menu to select “Community Resource Shelf” - these donations also support our ability to give out gas and grocery cards as we have funds available.
And if you’re in need of support, please call the front office and we can get you connected to the resources we have and know about! We are especially equipped to support food access and basic household supplies.
BRAVELY and Grace Neighbors Collaboration
From February 2026 through June 2026, we worked alongside the BRAVELY Food Team as Grace Neighbors to help provide household goods to families sheltering in place. BRAVELY is an emerging mutual aid network connecting Burnsville, Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan, and Lakeville.
Due to the changing landscape of what’s needed, we have pivoted to a 1:1 resource response system, and have discontinued weekly deliveries.
Thank you to everyone who helped out - either by donating household goods, donating financially, packing bags, or delivering! Through this collaboration, we were able to support over 200 families during the peak of Operation Metro Surge.
Get Involved with South Metro Food Support
While weekly food and household good distribution through BRAVELY has closed for now, there are still ways to get involved with some of our neighboring organizations to provide free and accessible food to those who need it in our area! Three organizations that we recommend checking out:
La Viña Church - they have a Monday food distribution and delivery that always needs more people to pack or drive! This is a great ongoing or one-off volunteer opportunity - sign-up here!
Apple Valley Food Shelf - this food shelf is housed at Shepherd of the Valley, and Grace does at least an annual donation drive to support their work. Volunteer shifts here can be on a more regular or ongoing basis.
The Open Door - this is a larger organization, but acts as a hub for food distribution and support! There are many ways to plug in and volunteer, and has opportunities for individuals and groups.
