On Earth as in Heaven
June 15-19, 2020 · 9:00am – 12:00pm daily
Vacation Bible School at Grace is a highlight of our summer! Whether you’ve been at Grace for years, or this is your first time meeting us, your kids are most welcome at VBS. We’ve got classes for 3-year-olds through 5th graders, and there are opportunities to volunteer for all ages. More than 130 kids from across the south metro join us every year. Registration opens March 29!
This Year’s Theme – On Earth as in Heaven
“On Earth As in Heaven” explores the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer for our world today, using one petition each day to explore faith, justice and the work to which God is calling us. The program this year is unique in that each day focuses on one petition from the prayer and ties the petition to one of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals in easily accessible ways.
Each day includes:
- An opening to introduce the prayer petition and the topic for the day, including a skit
- Small-group times
- Stories from projects around the world supported by gifts to ELCA World Hunger;
- Snacks and crafts from the countries and regions featured in the stories;
- Games for different age groups
- Simulation Stations to help children dive deeply into the topics of the day; and
- Large-group closing suggestions
- Each day the children will be taking part in a service project centered around the day’s theme
This year, we are also excited to include an appendix of handouts to send home, so that parents and caregivers can continue the conversation with children at the end of each day.
Registration can be completed online and will be open March 29. You are welcome to fill out one registration form per family, being sure to include each child’s name and information in the participant fields. Click the button below to get started!

Church Use of Photographs
On occasion, the church may use group photographs of youth in the monthly newsletter, on the church website, social media or as part of a display in the atrium; the youth are not identified by name. If you have concerns about photographs possibly being used in this way, please contact the office.
Safe Child Policy
Our safe church policy includes screening volunteers who work directly with youth, requiring written applications of everyone. Formal background checks will be required of confirmation guides/parents who chaperone overnight retreats, and those who drive youth to events.
