Shari Albrecht has been the organist at Grace since 2016. Her career as a Lutheran church organist began in middle school in Southern Illinois when she realized that playing the organ paid better than babysitting and got her out of acolyte duty. She stuck with it because it is fun and challenging! Shari loves to play for an enthusiastic community like the congregation at Grace and is having a lot of fun working with the church’s new hybrid Allen organ installed in 2019. Shari studied economics (and took organ lessons) at Macalester College and studied law at the University of Chicago. She worked as a commercial litigator in Chicago for several years, returned to St. Paul in 2012, and now works part-time for a Chicago-based law firm litigating media and intellectual property disputes. She lives in St. Paul with her husband Andy, daughter Mabel, and son Charlie.
