Lois trained to be a Registered Nurse at Swedish Hospital and Augsburg College in Minneapolis, graduating in 1961. She has worked in many areas of care in her nursing career, including 40 years in medical, surgical, oncology, radiation therapy, physically handicapped young adults and management positions. Lois became a Parish Nurse in May 2001, after training through the Parish Nurse course at Concordia College in Moorhead MN, and began the program at Grace that same year. Lois and her husband, Al, have been married since 1962. They joined Grace in February of 1968, raising their four children in this faith community.
Grace’s Parish Nurses are committed to the caring and healing mission of the church, educated to promote the wellness of mind, body and spirit. They work in partnership with the pastors. They care for the “whole” person, making referrals as necessary; they educate, support, and counsel members, and serve the ongoing needs of the church in many ways. In this way they support the vision of Grace Lutheran Church.
