The Minnesota Valley Men’s Chorale, under the direction of Steve Boehlke and The Minnesota Valley Women’s Chorale, under the direction of Judy Sagen will present their fall concerts, “Christmas in November.”
The concerts will be:
- Friday, November 10, 7:30 p.m., Prince of Peace, Burnsville
- Saturday, November 11, 7:30 p.m., Grace Lutheran Church, Apple Valley
- Saturday, November 18, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi, 7:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church.
A brass ensemble of former and present District 196 instrumental teachers will also provide holiday music. The choirs will perform a variety of traditional holiday music, including “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “Veni, Veni, Emmanuel,” “Preludieum” from the Sound of Music, “The Gloucestershire Wassail,” “Go Tell it on The Mountain,” and “Angels from the Realms of Glory.” The choirs will combine to perform “Christmas is Coming,” “Carol to The King” and “The First Noel.” The choirs will also perform the popular, “All is Well.”
Both choral ensembles have been invited to perform at the state ACDA (American Choral Director’s Association) fall conference on Sat., Nov. 18 where they will perform and sing under the direction of Mack Wilberg, Director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. That concert is at 1:30 p.m., tickets are available through Steve Boehlke.
