Prayers of Intercession, 04/24/22

With the whole people of God, let us pray for the church, the world, and all those in need.

O God of peace and mercy, look with love on those torn by gun violence, war, famine, and natural disaster.  Keep our interest after the TV cameras are gone.  Lord, we continue to pray for the people of Ukraine, and all who bring food and humanitarian aid for their survival. Give them strength to endure and hope for their uncertain future, that peace may come to them.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Oh God of Easter, your risen Son is our light and salvation.  You gave him human form so we would understand your word and be witnesses to it.  But you also gave us human qualities, like Thomas, doubting that which we cannot see.  Give us eyes that see your goodness, hands that do your work, and faith which will sustain your church.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

O God, of love, bring your healing touch to all the members of our congregation and community in need, including Chuckie, Terrence, Don, Bruno, John, Betty, and Sophia; to Lois & family, Kayla, Dave and Family, Jolene & Gene and family, Lisa & family, David, Tim, and Vangie; to Marlys & family, Carol, Teri, Tim, Jon and Harry. We offer prayers for our Call Committee, medical personnel, and for those who are sick, lonely, and suffering; for Mensajero de Cristo Lutheran Church of Guatemala, and all service personnel and their families.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

O God of community, we celebrate along with Marlene and the entire Nickles family, the life of your servant, Stan, whose funeral was held yesterday. We pray that we would follow his example of faithfulness, graciousness, humor and steadfast support of your church.  We also celebrate the arrival of Sheryl Vande Kamp to our church staff. May her gifts of music inspire us to greater acts of faith as we live out your word. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Into your hands gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray trusting in your mercy through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
