Prayers of Intercession, 02/20/22

With the whole people of God and your church, let us look within our hearts and minds and find clarity and calm through your words and the gift of prayer on behalf of your son, Jesus Christ.

Let us pray for the peace that comes from God alone, for the unity of all peoples, and for the good of our souls.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for the whole Church of Christ, in its diversity as well as in its confusion, in its sense of mission, vision, and hope: that its worship may be true, and its service and sacrifice genuine.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for people in need: those for whom life is a bitter struggle; those who have lost family members, homes, jobs through war and civil strife; those whose lives are clouded by death or loss, pain or disability, discouragement or fear, shame or rejection; that they may know the warmth, the comfort and the assurance of your love.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For the nations of the world, especially those countries where there is discord and uncertainty, and where those who claim authority and power do so without their people’s consent; for the people of nations in conflict, as they seek to bring about a fairer and more equal society; for those who work behind the scenes, using diplomatic skills, to foster better understanding between leaders.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for all who mourn the loss of loved ones, whatever the circumstances; for those whose lives have been turned upside down by tragedy or illness; for those who are anxious about what tomorrow may bring. We pray especially for:

Vangie, Roland, Marlene & family, Carol, Lorraine, Jorma, Teri, Don, Dick, Jon, Harry, Delores, Ruby, Aurora, Wendi. We offer prayers for medical personnel, those who are sick, lonely & suffering; Mensajero de Cristo Lutheran Church of Guatemala, and all service personnel and their families.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Jesus Christ is the light of the World, a light which no darkness can quench. You turn our darkness into light and in your light shall we see light.

Accept these prayers on behalf of your Son, Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Amen.
