Prayers of Intercession, 10/17/21

With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray with this church and all churches around the world for those in need, and all of God’s creation:

We pray for Pastor Jen and bid a warm welcome to Pastor Lamont. As we go through our next pastoral transition, let us continue to trust, follow and have confidence in their actions, deeds and words as they keep watch over us while they are here. So that we may continue to follow in grace and spirit and let them nurture us so that we may continue to follow in God’s word. And please let them know how much we appreciate everything that they do.

Hear us, O God, your mercy is great.

Lord, we pray for the people caught up in the events of the natural world and hope that you will bring relief and safety to those parts of the world that need your comfort and care. We also pray for the people who are in need of healing – whether it be physically, mentally or spiritually – and also for the people who are caring for them in their time of need. May they be wrapped up in God’s love, carried and kept, safe and cherished. May the healing power of your strength carry them through to hope, healing and relief.

Hear us, O God, your mercy is great.

We pray for all marginalized and positive voices around the world. Keep our doors open Lord as we embrace all groups, identities, races and sexualities. Give us the strength to not relegate to stereotypes and understand each human being as they are regardless of where they came from. Help us to continue to follow in Jesus’ teachings of loving one another and listening to thy neighbor.

Hear us, O God, your mercy is great.

We pray for our Grace Lutheran Church community and to pray for our members who we have either lost or are in need of our care and thoughts in their time of need. We pray especially for Bev & family, Don, Al & Lois, Andi, Keith & Sheryl, Larry & Elaine, Roy, Eron, Teri, Sharon, Patty, Michele, Carol, Beth, Earl, Chandra, Ashley, Karen. We offer prayers for medical personnel, those who are sick, lonely & suffering; Mensajero de Cristo Lutheran Church of Guatemala, and all service personnel and their families, and those we keep in the silence of our hearts (pause)

Hear us, O God, your mercy is great.

Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, Amen.
