Prayers of Intercession, 09/19/21

With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

Oh God of Peace, we pray that through your grace, there would be an end to man-made conflict, and a return to civility, both here and abroad. Your word teaches us that to follow you, we walk humbly, show mercy, put others first, and ourselves last.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Oh God of Hope, we pray for the strong presence in this community that is Grace Lutheran Church. As we restart our bible school, youth and other activities, inspire us to help, with donations of time, talent, treasure, supplies, or a kind word to those who run these programs. We pray that we would live in love, and be Christ to others, in a place where generosity and graciousness abounds.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

O God of Love, bring your healing touch to all those in need, including Beth, Earl, Chandra, Ashley, Karen, Bob & family, and Jarred; for Joey, Jeanne, Lorraine, Dick, Saretta, and Jim. We pray for the safety of our children, teachers, school staff, parents, daycare providers, and bus drivers as school gets underway. We pray for the 9/11 souls who perished, for those who survived, for those who gave their lives so others lived, and offer our collective thanks and praise. We also pray for medical personnel, those who are sick, lonely and suffering; Mensajero de Cristo Lutheran Church of Guatemala, and all service personnel and their families.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

O God of Life, we pray for the leadership of this place, including Pastor Jen, Lisa Sampson, Jared Rendell, the entire church staff, and for new leaders we will welcome in the coming months. We know you are watching over us, and that your hand is guiding us. May they all be models of your unconditional love, and as our children grow in stature, and our adults grow in knowledge, may we also grow in faith and humble service to you.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ our Savior, Amen.
