Climate change is an important and controversial subject that is worth considering from many points of view. It involves science that determines if the climate is changing and why, politics that decide how we should respond, and faith because as Christians we are called to be good stewards of God’s gifts which includes our planet. We will consider this issue in conjunction with Nobel Conference 55 to be held at Gustavus Adolphus College on September 24 and 25. There will be sessions at Grace the weeks before and after the conference:
Thursday, September 19, 7:00-8:30 PM, Grace Lutheran Church, Introduction to climate change and and preview of the Nobel Conference.
Tuesday & Wednesday, September 24-25, Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, MN, Nobel Conference 55, Climate Changed: Facing Our Future. Full conference ticket $75. The attendees can carpool from Grace.
Thursday, October 3, 7:00-8:30 PM, Grace Lutheran Church, What we learned at Nobel. Report and panel discussion by attendees at the conference.
For further information and to purchase Nobel Conference tickets go to the conference website
Note that the presentations will be live-streamed (free!) on the Internet so you do not have to travel to St. Peter. Those who are able to attend on campus will enjoy the fall colors, other conference activities involving food, art, and music, and enlightened conversations. If you have additional question please contact Chuck Swanson.
