Prayers of Intercession, 06/23/19

With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, the world, and all of God’s creation.

Dear gracious and loving God, we come before you today to worship, celebrate, give you praise, grieve, struggle, give thanks and just be together.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for peace as tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East. Guide our leader’s hearts and minds and guide all our hearts and minds to know what to do next in a world of tension and anxiety. Give us the courage to engage in the pain and suffering in our world. We turn our hearts and eyes to you who is greater than all the pain, hurt and violence, and humbly ask you for the opportunity to act.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

There are members of our own community who are in pain and suffering. We take a moment to remember them and pray for strength that only you can give them during this time. We remember Jeanne, Lil, Bob & Barb, Ingrid, Bob, Nikki, Lois, Andrea & family, Dick & Carol Geiger and family, Stan, Curtis, Michael, Betty, Sheldon, Jeff, Barb, Sophie, Dave, Tricia, Mensajero de Cristo Lutheran Church of Guatemala, and all service personnel and their families.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We continue to lift up Pastor Andrea in her sabbatical leave. May her time away continue to be restful, refreshing, and reflective. We also continue to lift up our transition team at Grace. We pray for courage, discernment and guidance as we move towards new leadership here at Grace.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Today we honor and celebrate the beautiful life of Carmen. We give thanks for this day to welcome her into the Grace community and remind her that you will surround her with love and grace. We pray that she is always filled with the Holy Spirit as she walks with you in this journey of life and continues to grow in the knowledge of your love.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
