Prayers of Intercession, 11/05/17

With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

As we prepare for another week of prayer and remembrance, let us use this time to reflect on God’s word and hear our voices, heal our spirits, touch our hearts, forget our differences, guide our steps and strengthen us in your presence as we pray.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of forgiveness and second changes, your patience and love for us never end even as we fail again and again to live as your children. Remind us of your faithfulness and reform us and renew us as we pray for the victims of the tragedies that befell New York City and Colorado this week. Pray they find comfort in their sorrow and know that we are thinking of them and let them find hope to guide them through their grievances. We also hope to pray for our leaders of our country that if there is error and their pride is hurt, help them see our forgiveness to make things right and to strive to live a life of example, by your strength and grace.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Through all times and places, God’s grace has been at work, building up the faith of God’s people and inspiring good works in the name of Jesus Christ. And there is no place more than that then here at Grace Lutheran Church. Pray for the leaders and volunteers who help out with the Dakota County Homeless Shelter this week and the Holiday Craft and Lefse Sale. Help us Lord Jesus, to be a people who come alongside those who are in need, encouraging and directing them to you and help us keep our eyes fixed on you. No matter our age or background, may we respond with our time and talents to your call to go out into the fields around us and serve.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

There is a lot going on here in these walls. Activity, action, interaction, growth and momentum. Open our hearts to your word and the opportunities before us to expand your ministry in this place through our Keep the Momentum Growing Campaign. We pray that we will be bearers of much fruit, growing in the knowledge of you, and being strengthened with power. We have so much because of your generosity. Help us to be a people known for being generous, not because of your ability to do so but because of your generosity having been poured out on us. Help us continue to always be a people with thanksgiving in our hearts and the message of the gospel on our lips.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord, let us take the time to pray where we are, as we continue our Pray Where You Are Campaign. Let us take a moment of silence with our hearts, to pray for our saints in our lives that need your healing, word and heart. And pray for our loved ones that are now with you in your kingdom, ones we have lost this year from our church, our families and our lives. We pray especially for our children and youth and the faith forming experiences and relationships they have had through Grace, let them be the light that continues to make this world glow.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Give your stillness, God of calm, to all who are facing illness, surgery, or any uncertainty of health. May they know that their ties are in your ever-healing hands. We pray for Gary, Will, Addie, DeNae, Judy, Brad, Lois, Haley, Dawn, Jackson, Sue, Sharon, Stephen, Evie & Bill, Tricia, Lauren, Ginger, Mary Pat, Mensajero de Cristo Lutheran Church of Guatemala, the Clown Ministry, Lutheran Heal Care Bangladesh, and all service personnel and their families.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Make us bold to share your good news with the world as members of Christ’s church, and make us humble to acknowledge our own role in dividing the body of Christ. Guide our lives, forgive oru sins, inspire our thoughts, shape our attitudes, and fill us with hope and joy, assuring us of your constant presence in all times and all places.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
